    Thanks for the info.
SWFA has the Schmidt & Bender 1-8x24 Zenith listed on their website but I doubt they have them in stock. http://swfa.com/Schmidt-Bender-1-8x2...pe-P47547.aspx

They also have the PM2 version on line. Ironically it too is $400 or so cheaper than the Leupy.

How in the hell did they come up with $4k for their scope. Must be some good stuff they are smoking.
This is almost like the ACR which was supposed to be around 1500 when it came out then nearly doubled in cost. Now we have a Leupold that most expected for around 2500 going for 4K what the hell?

This is my thought as well.

I can honestly say that if the Leupold is 4k I will never own one unless it is a gift or I inherit Bill Gates money.

I think that the Leupold's Horus 27 reticle may be driving its cost over the competition as the SB and Premier offerings have standard mil dot reticles at higher magnification.

Having said that, I don't see the Horus reticle as such a big advantage to justify the cost since Leupold's competition tends to have better glass and durability. Thus, I suspect that market forces will bring down the Leupold's cost unless they can release their model before the competition.

I plan to get either the Premier or the SB next year after the bugs are worked out of the initial release.

TAZ, you mentioned $400 a couple of times, might be you made a typo but it's about a thousand more on top of that; $1,400 more for the Leupold...

That reticle is great and I would love to have it, but not to the tune of $4000. That's just ridiculous. If it doesn’t hit the streets competitive in price with the S&B or Premier, I wont even be looking at it...

I had a few days to get some hands on time with the CQBSS last June, when I had it mounted on my SR-25. I have to say it's a nice scope...but...not for 4000-5600 like the projected and talked about cost.

I hate to bag on Leupold, since they're a local company, and I love their glass. The CQBSS was certainly unique, and it was overbuilt in some neat areas, like the locking turrets. But having scope caps with power terminals so when you shut the caps the illumination turns off is just an excuse for more stuff to break.

Again if it was a 3K dollar scope, sure, I'd want one. I can afford a 4000 scope if I save for a while, but it has to offer me 1500 dollars more scope then the S&B 1.1-8x.

The CQBSS is probably awesome for the warfighter, who isn't paying for it, but for civilian purchases it's just priced somewhere between "uhhh..." and "you guys are serious?!"

I had no idea it'd be going for that much, commercially.

For 4k bones, they can't possibly be depending on commercial sales, because nobody's gonna spend $4k for something with THAT shitty an exit pupil @ 8x.

You guys ever see The Whole Nine Yards? That scene where they have to duct-tape that dude into the X-ray machine to get prints of his teeth? THAT'S about how stable you have to be behind the Loopy 1-8X on 8x IOT use it.

Unless it starts shitting Tiffany cufflinks, there's no way in the 9 levels of hell, PLUS the special one reserved for Michael Jackson and people that talk out loud in movie theaters, that the Loopy is worth $4k....

Woops my bad. Forgot to carry the one.

I don't think that Horus is charging $1400 for their reticles. If they are USO is taking a huge hit when they sell a scope with a Horus reticle in it. I think the going rate was like $500.

Maybe Leupy is doing the inverse ACR marketing/pricing strategy. They announce a target selling price of $4k and then sell for $2500 and everyone thinks they are getting a huge deal and make a run in their dealers.

That Premier looks like it would be the cats meow on my SPR or better yet I could sell half my safe and put it on an MWS. Ohhhhh droool.
