    Thats awsome to get Your son out to the range. When I was his age, I was still playing with toys.

    Some day I would like to get my son out to the range, it may be a while though....he's only 1 yrs of age.

    Every child is different, both he and his sister are good shots and know their way around firearms....
    She's 13 and doesnt care for the range as much as makeup and boys anymore, but will go occasionally....
    I started them early and used the 4 rules even with toy guns, we graduated from water guns to dart guns to airsoft and bb guns.....
    That led to a Winchester model 60 .22 single shot and as you can see, the AR's (hence the collapsible stock) and he loves to pull the trigger on the mossy 500 and Rem 870 even though dad has to help him hold it due to short arms....
    Safety is 2nd nature with only the occasional reminder (pic 1- finger on trigger while disengaging the safety) and because there is no "mystery" regarding what the firearm is capable of, they are not tempted to mess with them and really couldnt care less unless it's time to shoot....
    Just one less thing for me to worry about.....
