Man that is a rough picture to look at. May God bless him and show him his path.

Grant, when I saw him for the first time when he got back, and not knowing what had happened, I felt like I was punched in the gut. I had assumed he had lost most of his brain. That's not what happened though, most of the space in your head is taken up by protective tissues, the skull and fatty tissue, and that's what he's mostly missing. He does have some damage to the brain itself, but he's a WHOLE lot better than I had expected him to be.

He's still Jamie, he's still in there, and he's coming back.

We're going to try to get him to the range this Saturday to do some shooting from the bench.

We'll see how it goes, but if it happens I'll try to get some pics. Anytime out and about is good for him, and working on fine motor skills is a must for his rehab.

Please let him know we are thankful for his service and appreciate his efforts in the accomplishments we have made in Iraq. His recovery and his courage, both then and now, is an inspiration for us all to keep pushing on in life, no matter what comes our way.

Peace be with him and his family.
