few questions about the s&w m&p15

First off I'd like to say that this is the best and most informative forum that I've found on the internet.

On to my questions, if these have been answered in another thread please point me in the right direction. I tried the search but couldn't find the answers i was looking for.

Does the s&w m&p 15A come with a mil-spec receiver extension tube?

What type of buffer does the m&p come stock with, or how would you tell which buffer you have? ie: H or H2?

I can't tell you what buffer is in it for sure but I'm pretty sure it's a H.

The receiver extension is mil spec sized though.

Welcome! The S&W 15A represents a good value IMHO for a factory built weapon. They use Mil-Spec RE's and carbine buffers.

To my knowledge, only Colt ships their LE AR's with H or H2 buffers.

Thanks guys for your replies. I had a few problems in the beginning with my mp15A, but i'm getting some kinks worked out of it now and i am real happy with it. I mine ordered, and then started reading all the bad press on the web about them, but mine is running smooth and it's only use is for recreational hunting and target shooting. I like the feel of it, although i haven't handled any other ar's except bushys, but it serves the purpose that i have for it. I'm not wanting to be an 'armchair commando', but I would like to put a good multipurpose optic on it. Thanks again.

Does anyone know if the 5.56 chamber on the m&p is really 5.56 or is it .223? Also if anyone can give a 'lamen's terms' description of the different chambering of 5.56-.223.?

Stag Arms 15's and the M&P ARs are chambered in 5.56.

NATO 5.56 chamber allows for a higher chamber pressure. (google is your friend
