taking flash suppressor off BCM 12.5" w/ 11" rail?

I hope this is the right sub forum....

I have a 12.5 BCM upper with VTAC 11" rail on it, and want to swap out the flash suppressor with another.

I know the old "building block" vice grip trick using two pieces of wood around the barrel, but there isn't any barrel to grab on this one. Will I need to take the rail off (something I don't really want to do) to get the flash suppressor?

How tight usually does BCM put their fs's on (Blue Loctite and crank it)?

    Thanks for any suggestions!

No theres no loctite on there.

I know its not technically the correct way but if it were me Id just hold it between my legs, and take a 3/4" open ended wrench to it. Its not something Id do on the same upper repeatedly as you can wear out the notch in the upper or break the pin on the barrel but Ive never had an issue with the "between the legs" method, and I don't really recall anyone having an issue, either. The barrel nut holds the upper and barrel together tighter than what tq is on the muzzle device.
