Which .308 AR is Hot? Which is not?

Looking into a .308 AR early next year. Budget is about $2k. Which .308 is hot right now? Which is not?

    Features I'm looking for is:
Piston driven, 1st choice. DI, 2nd choice.
    18" barrel, 1st choice, 16" barrel 2nd choice.
Compatible with Magpul Mags is a must.
Ability to use other Magpul products like the MOE grip, and triggerguard.
    Able to use ACS stock.
Full length rail or ability to add the DD 308 rail.

And to clarify...what lowers exactly won't take Magpul mags? It's the Armalite lower, right?

Try the "beyond 556" forum. Tons of good info there. But you will have one hell of a time with a 2k budget. Ain't gonna happen with a piston.

Kaiser Works KR7 might be a worthy option too. comes with a MOE grip, ACS stock, 16" or 18" barrel, and full rail.

Can the LMT rail forearm be removed and replaced with a DD Lite 12.0?
