This sounds really interesting. Hopefully it will be more successful than the ill-conceived "Colt Tactical" line.
Ok, lets get with the speculating!

Not knocking Colt as I am a long time customer, however they just cannot get ahead of the curve these days....as of recent, first it was a 6940, then it was announcing a piston project and now with this 7.62 gun it just seems they need to do more innovating and less copy catting imho.
But backward compatible. Now that does sound interesting. Always like the notion of interchangability. Unfortunately does not always seem achievable.
Glocks are functional tools and nothing else, hence they have no soul - Rob S.
If Colt is able to pull off the backwards compatibility with 5.56 uppers, I'd love to see how they do it. The distance between the front and rear takedown pins don't seem to be long enough to accommodate a 7.62 lower with it's longer magazine well.
We are talking x51 and not x39, right ?
One has to assume...x39s have been out pre-ban.

No pic dang it.
Wanted to see what was backward compatible.
You can view it here, almost....
The modular mag well seems similar to what MGI has done before.
