    You're looking at it wrong.

What you're asking is for a production shop to have one of their worker-bees stop doing their production work and make a pouch.

I'd love to see a pic of what your saddlemaker churned out.

    Perhaps.

Send me your e-mail addy via PM and I'll shoot a pic; after I dig it out of the "don't use any more" box of goodies.

What I'm talking about is a pouch to hold a single magazine, for wear on a standard (1.5") gun belt, alongside the pistol mag pouch.

    Any ideas?

In addition to those mentioned, I've seen single pouches in basketweave finish, but it's been several years. They were about $20. IIRC, they were Tex Shoemaker or Strong.

For a single pouch, compatible with various belts, my preference is the Wildnerness offering here: http://store.thewilderness.com/produ...products_id=23

    Hmmm; definite possibility there.

    Thank you.

Has anyone tried the Brownell's "polymer" pouch? I do not want plastic, but my options are diminishing rapidly...

I have one of their's. It's made by Bladetek with the Brownell's logo embossed. It has their tek-lok system and seems to be pretty GTG. I'm not sure what your intended use is, mine has only seen light range use so far.

Light range use, and having a spare mag handy when putzing about the homestead while waiting for the hordes to find my subdivision...

Thanks; this sounds like what I need.

Hmm... not sure about that one... I suspect there's a bit more to it than that.

As for where to find a pouch... to my knowledge the only quality makers producing a leather AR mag carrier are, as others have already mentioned, Alessi and Sparks... Josh Bulman also makes a very nice carrier that is essentially the same design as Lou Alessi's.

Rob, the pouch on the right looks like it may be from Bruce Nelson. Are there any markings on it?

You still holding out for leather or is kydex an option?

Not that I can find. I prefer the Sparks pouches, as I think the unmarked one is really intended for a 20 rounder and I'll probably limit it to use with those.

I got the unmarked one in trade for a kydex.

I see. And where can I find your line of leather goods?
