Any one read the last Gun Re-test I mean Test

They article compared the XD 45Compact tactical, XD 45 full size, Glock 21SF, and the Taurus PT in 45 acp also...
I don't know why i pay attention, or read the magazine but a lot of people do take that as gospel.
I don't agree with a lot of what the magazine writes but i was wondering what other people think about GUN TEST? or as some of us call it gun re-test.

I had a subscription to that once, and found that their tests and my experience (I had been shooting for about 10 or 15 years by that time, with a semi-wide range of tools in my collection) almost never dovetailed. There were a couple of occasions where the one they picked in a particular test was the same model that failed for me, while the one they said failed is a gun I never had trouble with.

I think my biggest beef with that publication is that I don't really know what their experience is as a testing staff. I just take what they write with a brick of salt.

    What Haji said, and...

Ever notice that in one issue, they hate a particular gun, then in another they love it?

I used to have a subscription a long time ago, and noticed the inconsistencies, and some questionable testing criteria, so tanked it. abuddy of mine swore by it though, 'course he also thought the cheap CDNN scopes were as good as leupolds

That "magazine" is nothing more than a way for a group of guys to get their hands on all manner of guns for free.

While their testing sucks, their conclusions suck, their writing sucks, and their pictures suck, you gotta hand it to them for finding a way to get their hands on all manner of guns for free.

Beyond what has been mentioned above, their conclusions have the same restrictions as the major gun mags and advice from a buddy: A test sample size of one.

Good point. They never seemed to mention that, though; I guess it would have put a dent in the Cool Guy Status that they were developing. For the budget they probably have, they seem to have done a good job of marketing it: "We're the only ones in the world that won't lie to you about what really happens when a factory gun is tested!" I would bet that, because I'm a decent speller and have the knowledge base of trained skills to use a spell-checking program, I'm missing out on making a killing in the hard scrabble, rough and tumble world of "Magazines Printed at Kinko's", hereafter known as MPAK. Its all about some acronyms, baby!

I am glad i am not the only one that has the same point of view, i was on the floor rolling when i read in one of their issues that a lanyard loop on a 1911 would help stabilise the gun while shooting
I never heard of a lanyard being use to stabilize a gun while shooting, I guess i miss that part on my fundamentals class.
I have seen them go back and forward on gun reviews all the time.

We'll both call in sick and come shooting! j/k
Nah, Looey has to let his hand heal. Too much damn shooting at HRP the other day!

Looey at SummerBlast you ended up 9th B shooter in Production (out of 20) and 25th overall of 73 shooters in Production.

I ended up 11th B shooter in Limited (out of 30) and 34th overall of 84 shooters in Limited. I messed up the classifier named Madness with a no-shoot hit and a mike (Virginia count). But on El Presidente I got 75.1740% w/9 alphas and 3 charlies in 7.02sec my best ever (It'll definately bring my average up near A class). 'Back in the day' (Coopers days) this was Master class.

Apparently, your training is not very good, then. Everybody knows that the real high speed tacticool mall ninjas use the lanyard as a hasty sling to steady the firing platform. If you're not doing that, you obviously can't shoot very well.

Ya gotta give 'em points for creativity, though, don'cha? I don't think I've ever seen another writer make that claim.
