Yes. You can use a 223 or 17 Fireball based short action. Model 700 or Model 7.

Because the barrel is nitrided, the chamber and bore is very hard like chrome. On a Remington with a Remington recoil lug, these will tend to be long chambered. That means that you need to check the headspace with gauges (PTG has them) and - if the headspace is too much, you can grind the recoil lug by how much you need to shorten headspace. In most cases it should be within 0.005 or so.

WHOA! I could totally use the medium contour one since I have a .223 Rem 700VSS!

Might still need some stock work to fit any existing stock.

So out of a 9" barrel does this cartridge offer better performance out to say 150 yards compared to a 10.5"-11.5" carbine in 5.56 using modern ammo?

I've always wanted a shorty in 6.8 so I could have a flexible, maneuverable setup that allowed me to reach out further than a shorty in 5.56 if I had to but start up costs with new magazines and cost of ammo is whats keeping me back.

This though would be great alternative if all I needed was ammo and a new barrel.

When does the suppressor hit dealers' shelves? Rough ETA is good enough.

We have been selling the suppressor to military and but want to ramp up inventory before general sales. So it is more of a January item.

    762-SD is in stock now.

Any class III dealers that you recommend in NC, more specifically Western, NC?

I ordered an ACC 762SD from on gentlemen out here back in Jan. and paid him in full, but he said he was having difficulty dealing with AAC and will no longer order any suppressor from AAC ( I hear this 10 months later). He didn't go into detail and I didn't ask.

I just want to find someone in my state that can order the 762SDN-6 for me so I can begin my paperwork and not wait 6 months before I even have a serial# to get started.

Any recommendation would be much appreciated.

Nevermiss have you tried PF Customs, I know their out of Asheville but I think they mostly deal with Gemtech. Also you can try Shooters Express near Gastonia. Hope this helps.
