    New BCM Lightweight Middy Upper

I just got this puppy today, putting it on my atrociously heavy UBR Redi-Mod lower. Loving it so far, balances pretty rear-heavy, which is exactly what I was going for. I must admit though, I might go with a lighter stock and ditch the RM to get a very light, very capable build.

But enough about that, here's the pics. As you can see, I've already hit the gun with a rattle-can job and it hasn't been in my clutches for more than about 8 hours. :

I think I'm gonna dig the BattleComp too.

Looks like a very fine rig. I like the camo job too.

Nice score and it looks very light. I'm thinking the same thing but with a 12" rail.

I saw you rifle in the pic thread and thought the same thing. Any reason you went with the M4s over a T1?

Do you have any shots of the rifle from the side? I'd like to see how the barrel/rail combo look.

I originally chose the M4s due to coming off the EoTech bandwagon, I was used to lenient cheekweld with optics. The 30mm tube eased the transition, but now I don't feel I'd be hampered by a 20mm tube, so there might be an M4s on the EE soon.

    Here's a side shot too.

It looks a little familiar (even down to the battlecomp):

Except mine needs paint. Yours is MUCH better looking.

Very nice package, I love the balance, just a smidge in front of the pistol grip. You can easily move it around with just one hand on the grip.

Let me guess, you also got the email two weeks ago saying "they're in!" and said to yourself 'I need it before it goes back out of stock again'?

Haha, yup, been thinking about one for months then pulled the trigger when I saw they were still in.

It's interesting to see how people use lightweight parts like .625" barrels and Aimpoint Micros. Some use them in conjunction with a whole host of similarly light, but fully capable, parts (MOE stock, TRX Extreme tubes, etc.) while others use them to offset the weight of heavier parts (1-4x optics, UBR stocks, etc.). It's nice that these parts aren't just seen as items for the wimpy kids and instead are getting wide use for a variety of purposes.
