Just fought an hour-long, pitched battle with...

my BCM SOPMOD bolt upgrade kit. I finally gave up on getting the pin back in while using the o-ring. I'm now questioning not only my manhood, but my very existence.

The o-ring is back in its little plastic bag home, mocking me. My wife wants to know "who would buy a gun that is so damn hard to work on"? It's ok though, my good friend Busch Light won't make fun of me...if I can get the bottle open.

Any trick to getting the damn thing together with the o-ring in there?

Just skip the o-ring... you will be fine without it.

    1. What is the configuration of the weapon that you are going to run it in?

    2. If it is a 16" with a true 5.56 chamber, it more than likely isn't needed.

    3. One way of installing it is to use some vise grips. You can gently squeeze it until the holes are lined up and then push the pin in.

I think the only AR I am running a ring in is my 11.5". All the others have standard milspec springs and inserts.

I thought about vice grips, but can't seem to find mine.

Ha! Thing is that you're probably pushing it too hard. I remember putting one in for the first time, pinching it like a mofo, then as soon as I let up *fwoosh* the extractor pin slid right in.
Aimpoint M4S- Because your next Aimpoint battery hasn't been made yet.

Not needed. Don't worry about it.

Too much extractor tension can cause the extractor not to slip over the rim and thereby causing a malfunction. Just leave it.
