For $70, the Burris AR-PEPR seems to be a functional mount. No QR and I'm not a fan of railed top rings, but if you need something less expensive that would be worth a look.

I have to agree with those above however - for another $100 or so you can get a better mount.

LaRue is top Notch and if you factor in the Free stuff ( Dillo Dust - LaRue Cap - Dillo ) probably 30 dollars worth of freebies and the best customer service in the business. LaRue is the ONLY option as far as I'm concerned.

I bought a Burris PEPR a few months ago. I think it is made in Texas too, like the Larue. My PEPR had a sticker on the bottom that read, "Made in China". I've been through China, Texas many times, it's about 15 miles west of Beaumont, Texas on Highway 90.

    Ain't that neat!

The PEPR works OK for what I do with it. I use it to hold a scope for a day at the range to test accurate loads for my AR. Then, it's off and back to my T-1 on my ADM.

+1 for LaRue customer service. I placed my order on Sunday night & got the expected order confirmation e-mail. On Monday morning I got a Thank You e-mail, then later a UPS tracking number.

When my order arrived, I looked in the box & in addition to the items I actually bought; there was a hat, beverage entry tool, jar of Dillo dust, 2 bumper stickers, & a pocket size book of the Constitution & Declaration of Independence.

You just don't see that kind of service every day.

You learn something new every day! Here I thought it was China, Maine...I should have known when I drove through there that I didn't see a Burris plant..sheesh!

I have my Leupold MR/T mounted in a PEPR and agree - it's a good mount for what it is. It puts the scope where I need it, seems to be made well and locks solidly on the rail. That being said, I haven't purchased anything from LaRue since my 150 many moons ago and my hat is done wore out....

I've put a lot of time and money into building up this rifle, it makes sense not to skimp on the mount...

Don't just take my word for it. An optic mount is just as important as the optic itself. If you plan on putting it in the safe, then put whatever you want on it. If you plan on using it, then wait and spend the money on a good mount and scope.
