    Chrome Plated Bolt carriers

Any advantage to these aside from the natural lubricity of chrome? I bought one several years ago when I built my 20" SS 1/8 twist rifle and was just wondering everyone's opinions on them.

Also, could you identify manufacturer? It has a "D" stamped in the Bolt and on the Carrier, the firing pin is unshrounded, the staking is not "proper", just a thin line indented across the carrier key and bolts. The carrier key bolts look almost "cloverish" instead of round on the outside edge. Can tell they haven't moved since staking and still tight, but this has been more of a bench rifle and only has maybe 700-1K thru it in 3 yrs and has been babied w/no more than 10 shots at a time between letting the barrel cool.

I will say the bolt cleans up nicely though!
