Great goal but probably not achievable as they will just figure somthing else for the grunts to carry they always do. What we can do to lighten their load is get the burden of carrying the weight of this war off their backs when most of this nation is blind to what is going on over there. They sit here in the states comfy and safe bitching about how long its going on and how much it costs while our service men and women fight to keep the wolf away from the door, and should be given our unwavering support!!
Amen SGTMAJ!
Anyone who is in the military more than six months will be able to watch how their gear evolves, particularly when pushed by the civilian market, a war, or both. I remember lugging a 30lb radio that had a useful range of a few miles, while watching reporters call in their stories on satellite phones.![]()
I'm with you on the support. I'm jealous of this generation's burden to take the fight to islamowackos. I was with 2/8 way back in the 80s when the open war between them and us got started.
F***ing batteries! Man they are heavy.
Even if they could cut back on the weight the Grunts would start carrying more ammo to make up the difference.
The SGTMAJ makes a very good point here.
