Something else that dawned on me; the reaction to information.

On many other forums if you tell someone they are wrong and show them why they are wrong, they lash out with all sorts of childish nonsense. Here people seem to accept it and be able to say "I was wrong" without all the drama.

I prefer this board to all others because there aren't any idenitied trolls posting crap just to cause drama. That and I believe the community here is high quality personnel who are here to help and answer questions.

That said, I do not think you will find a better group of honest dealers on any other website today!

I buy the majority of my stuff from a few select retailers. Most of them are members of this website!

Lastly, I would not hesitate to buy anything from anyone in the members resell part of the board!
    Better known as "The CAC"!

In general rude behavior is strongly discouraged around here.

That's a good thing, in my opinion.

The more I am in forums the less patience I have for dealing with nitwits.

    Thanks guys!

This place was started because we saw a need for a place where the professionals could share their knowledge with those of us that want to learn. We wanted that to be an environment that was mature, respectful, professional and courteous.

The internet can be a great medium for sharing information and connecting like-minded individuals but if left unchecked it can do more harm than good.

In addition we wanted a place where the members could not be deceived about the identity of those providing that information. One member-one account. I personally check each and every account so that we are sure a duplicate account is not being created. This is for your (and our) protection. If someone is giving you information we want to make sure they are doing so for the right reasons

We're glad everyone is enjoying this forum and we appreciate all of your participation.

This site is great! Mayby too good, I got reamed by my boss the other day for spending so much time on here reading. I finally conviced him that this site was work related and have not had a problem since.

I offer this jewel from TOS to illustrate why I only go here and one or two other places anymore.

When you hear about a barrel maker considering not selling barrels anymore and only selling complete uppers because some goober tried to put the barrel in by having his buddy hold onto the receiver "really tight" while he went at the barrel nut with a oil filter wrench and then calls asking for help straightening that out, you have to realize it takes a certain amount of bravery to be a dealer here.

You have top notch professionals in arms posting semi-regularly to regularly as well as highly knowledgable non-pros, all willing to help others out.
You have moderators who are not afraid to control the forum, so that you do not have to sort through so much noise to get to the signal.

Most professional open forum I have encountered in any industry.

    Or this one:

Do you think the men could have been influenced by the name Colt, just as if an officer had a S&W 686 and another had a King Cobra?

I think DPMS are good AR's,no better and no worse than Colts!

You'll find many here with a passion for brand preference *cough* Colt *cough* and strong dislike of some others *cough* readmyusername *cough* but if you grow a thick enough skin and listen to what many folks have to say, you'll come away with REAL knowledge, not just gun-board talk.

Over there, its not so much about what really works as it is about getting something that looks nice and has a high price tag to show off at the range. Over here, you may find the same affinity for top-notch gear, but you know its because its the best, not because it looks pretty.
