I need a suppressor lol. I will say I was more than happy with the guns performance. It was dirty and nasty, but it ran on minimal lubrication for 800 rounds that day using weak nasty wolf ammo. I also did not baby it.

That day I did multiple 3-4 mag strings of maybe 45-50rounds a minute and it ran great. It would have ran better with good ammo, and it would have at least gone another 200-500 rounds before it needed more lube. It eventually got to hot to hold anything but the pistol grip so I quit for the day.

Preferred buffer weight for unsupressed shooting? I plan on using XM193 primarily.

H2 is a good starting point assuming it's gassed reasonably. H3 might be better with that over powered ammo.

I am almost certain that an H3 will run in it.

DD then cuts the barrels to 10.3", threads them, and assembles the uppers using the Crane provided parts. The GBs are attached via set screw only as spec'd by Crane, for whatever unimaginable reason.
Excuse my ignorance but why get 14.5 barrels to just cut them to 10.3. Can colt produce 10.3 barrels? Are you telling me every mk18 I've seen started like as a 14.5 barrel on the way to get snipped? I know DD has 10.3 barrels, why is the cutting required?

I'm a newbie and this my be a dumb question.

Colt does produce 10.3 inch barrels and has for many years. The most recent incarnation can be seen on LE6946 carbines.

So in the above scenario why is DD cutting barrels down and threading them? Why not just use 10.3 inch barrels to begin with?

I run an H3 buffer with my Noveske 12.5" Crusader, Mk18 and 8.5" uppers and have no issues.

I have no idea why or what DD does to manufacture their "MK18" barrels. Are you certain they are machining longer barrels down to size?
