Ah, okay. Thought it was a technical or construction issue or something.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

I remember reading somewhere that DD sold 8,000 complete MK18 uppers to the military, as well.

But they are also selling just the RIS IIs as an upgrade to the LMT and Colt uppers.

Very interesting info. I've often heard that real MK18's featured cut colt barrels and not LMT barrels

    The Mk18s/CQBRs are rare birds.

6 years in theater and other than mine and the ones my section ran (in 'stan) I've only run across one IA SEAL with one and one ODA with them in Iraq.

We inherited ours (6 I think) as CQBR uppers from our outgoing brothers.

I don't know where they all are, but you don't see many in Iraq or 'stan.

Some MK18 MOD0s use factory 10.3" Colt barrels.

Do you know what this gas block looks like or any source for one? Or a picture?

Does Crane make any gas port modifications after they chop the barrels?

I'll betcha the folks at SAW know what gas block Crane uses.

The DD gas blocks look like this:

    Very nifty design.

The DD rep stated on TOS that they supply MK12 gas blocks for use with RIS II equipped MK18 uppers
