It's a Block II CQBR clone, which isn't all Colt by construction. But they are Colt where they need to by (mine is Colt down to the RE, FCG, grip, H3 buffer, ambi selector).

Here, this 100% Colt upper--including the 14.5" RO921HB barrel--might twist your panties less (perhaps you could direct me to a Colt RAS....):
Actually, I just found it humorous that you said "All Colt, except" and then provided to list the only parts that most would care about being made by Colt (barrel, lower receiver). Not discounting the weapon, it's nice. Just kinda funny to say "All Colt" and then except the more important Colt parts. Kinda like saying, "All Ferrari" except the Motor, Suspension, and a few other small parts. For instance, when I post pics of my DD rifle, I don't say, "All DD." I simply post a pic of the nice rifle. Carry on, though and enjoy your Colt parts. Like I said, nice rifle!

Your drum room looks like it has more even (softer) lighting. Also, guns are black, which makes getting details on them wash out everything that's lighter unless you HDR it. Try photograph your rifle on a darker backdrop with more even lighting. And use a tripod.

Also looks like you have natural light in the drum room vs incandescent light where you have your rifle. More light is good!

For us clone builders, having critical Colt parts is a big deal. Someday I will buy another Colt 10.3" barrel for it. The stripped lower receiver is Noveske but most small parts are Colt. Here's the same lower with an all-Colt Mk18 upper from SAW...eventually I will Form 1 my spare Colt lower to form a complete rifle.

Anyway, we're deviating from the purpose of the thread. We don't want this to devolve....

Yeah Stick I think I need some lessons as well, along with armors courses and whatnot, M4 should offer an AR photo class through you! I would sure as shit sign up. I love the all white background, if there is a program that I can use on my Mac or setting on my camera, please let me know, the camera is a Sony A55. I do not know how to use any of the features on this camera, while I know it is not a 5000+ camera I know that I can do more with it then I am able to do.

Stick would you have any interest in opening a thread on taking photos of an Ar, firearms etc?. Maybe some pointers for what general settings work the best, WB, etc. I know everyone has a generally different camera, but just some standard settings that may be able to capture the firearms better or anything else that may help us that need it.
If you do that would be awesome, if not just as well and I understand, I thank you for your pictures, you are by far my favorite photographer!

    Jon,

Have you tried that DD offset mount on the top rail? I am wanting to off set a MRDS on an NSR and am trying to avoid using any mountable panels so the top rail is my only option. How does it change the offset angle if mounted on top if you've tried it? Never touched one so I am not sure. Thanks.

Negative but do not think it would work as it would angle off in really strange.
