This SureFire LED WeaponLight is capable of seamlessly switching from white to infrared light-no incandescent head or IR filter required. The new 620V, the latest in SureFire’s Scout Light® line, features a high-output white-light and IR LED in one sealed unit, both of which are fully selectable on the fly.

By incorporating a selectable white and IR light LED into one head, SureFire has given operators the ability to switch from 150
lumens of blinding white light to 120 mW of invisible (to the naked eye) infrared light in under a second. A Total Internal Reflection lens focuses the light in either mode to create a beam with plenty of reach and enough surround light to accommodate peripheral vision, making the 620V suitable for both close-quarter and longer-range applications. And to ensure the WeaponLight never accidentally switches modes, a spring-loaded selector ring automatically locks in place when a mode is selected.

This NIB 620V generates nearly two hours of tactical-level white light on a set of batteries, or eight hours of useful infrared light on that same set.

It’s constructed of aerospace aluminum, hard anodized with a Mil-Spec finish, is less than six inches long and weighs under eight ounces, and securely attaches to any Picatinny rail in seconds via an integral M93 throw-lever rail clamp.

SureFire Awarded Major Contract for USSOCOM Visible Bright Weapon--November 20, 2010

SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of high-end illumination tools and tactical products, has been awarded a contract for a Visible Bright Light III (VBL-III) in support of the U.S. Special Operations Command weapons accessories program.

The $14.9 million contract, for an indefinite quantity of SureFire weapon-mounted lights, was awarded by officials of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, in Crane, Indiana.

The objective of the VBL-III is to provide improved illumination capability for the small arms used by special operations forces. SureFire will be fulfilling the contract with its new “V-Series” LED WeaponLights, specifically, the M620V Scout Light® and M720V RAID™ light, both of which feature high-output white-light and infrared illumination from the same sealed unit. Unlike incandescent weapon-mounted lights, which require an infrared filter to produce enough infrared illumination for use with night vision devices, V-Series LED lights require no IR filter. To convert from white to IR light (or vice versa), the user need only twist the light’s self-locking selector ring, even on the fly.
