    Gamers? New Medal of Honor....

Best game Ive ever played... Not to give away anything important but basically the game revolves around Takur Ghar which is very much a real life battle that took place during Operation Anaconda (Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Takur_Ghar). There is some game play in the begining that is different but Takur Ghar is the main theme.

Im not sure any game will beat COD MW 1 in online multiplayer but so far it looks promising, and certainly much better than MW2.

Anyone pick the game up today? Thoughts?

I was expecting my copy from GF tomorrow. But it looks like Columbus Day pushed it back a day for me.

IGN is not a fan. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/112/1127112p2.html

The multi-player in beta was ass. Awful. For one, no prone...yeah exactly. I guess tier 1 doesn't need prone.

    Passing on this one.

I bought it this afternoon, and I must say...graphics are great. As for the campaign game play, I'm only about 45 minutes in, and I've found that it follows a kind of "fight...move...talk...fight...move...talk" kind of rotation.

There are certainly many options in the campaign as far as using terrain features, hard and soft cover, etc to maximize the game play experience. I do like the lean-and-shoot technique that seems to have carried over from the Rainbow Six games (MoH is made by the same people...EA)

As for the multiplayer....seriously lacking a variety of maps. It seems like I've played the same 4 maps over and over again. One thing I did like with MW2 was the "kill cam" which is not present in MOH. One sniper shot and you're dead...you've got no idea how.

It's gonna take a lot of getting used to, but I'm sure it'll overtake MW2 in the online arena.

Who's gonna get Black Ops when it comes out?

Im talking as far as the game itself goes. I had NONE of those issues IGN said there was. I thought the actual game play was way better than either MW (esp 2). The enemies move (a lot), and you attract their fire based on your movements. If you pop your head up to take a shot you are going to draw fire to yourself from multiple enemies. You basically have to be dotting your I's and crossing your T's. Its not the boring shooting dumb enemies of games past. No....they won't form a stack, and assault your position but you can't exactly show your ass, either. To figure out what to do you actually have to pay attention to what your team mates are telling you. Theres bounding in pairs, covering fire, room clearing as a team, ect.

Im still big on MW1 online....

I forgot about the cover thing. If you choose the wrong "cover" it'll start getting shot out from in front of you, and bullets will pierce certain things like wood boxes. No more hiding behind a stack of crates, and being immune from everything. This works on enemies, too. Rocks still are bomb proof but aint no one gonna be shooting through a boulder in real life anyways.

Enemy RPG fire is pretty accurate, too.

The "talk shoot talk shoot" thing is to keep the story flowing....

I haven't played modern warfare 2 since february.

I'm tired of this shit. Maps are still too linear, physics blow, and worst of all, not enough hardcore game types.

My xbox360 literally has a quarter inch of grey dust sitting on it right now.

The next generation of FPS games must have bullets as actual projectiles that have bullet drop, damage drop, and time-to-target. Sniper rifles should not have 1moa at infinite range. Wind also has to play a factor too, for all weapons and their calibers.

If the new FPS games like MOH and black ops don't have these features, then what's the point?

Games like MW/MW2 are too easy to play. There's no depth.

Flashpoint Dragon Rising has reality based ballistics if you want that level of simulation. Its the closest I've seen to trying to build that feature into a military FPS. The Thermal and Night Vision also work closer to the real thing with the grainy picture and flaring. There's also no being shot with a USP from 400meters. There's also wind, temperature and humidity effects on ballistics.

Your also pretty much dead when you get shot, there's no running around blasting people taking rounds and then waiting for the red gel to go away or your shields to come back.

They also have cover and concealment based on type of terrain, but the houses seem to be largely both.

ARMA2 was/is still the worst suck of any FPS I've ever seen.

There's also the real thing still readily available via the nearest recruiting center with free-tickets to our most popular spawn points (respawn is limited and usually involves limping)

Back in 2007 (Iraq), I talked with guys that had literally just finished 11B school and were arriving as follow-ons to their very first units with no additional training. I felt like it was our modern day version of Stalingrad. I wonder if we are doing that again in Afpakadouchebagistan.

I'd love to see a game like Dragon Rising with the budget and polish of a COD game. As is (a little buggy and lacking in the aforementioned "polish") it's still one of best shooters I've played in years.

... Wind would be difficult to incorporate, I would think.

    MOH-

Is the lean similar to MOH:Airborne (best "cover system" ever)... Or is one of those deals where you stick to cover and pop out ()?
