The pin & weld job won't require disassembly, but if he wants it crowned, they will have to put the barrel in a lathe.
I would ask ADCO to look at it and see what they think. With how you described the end of your barrel/crown I would have it redone for only $25.00 bucks.

    Until that day,

I have talked to them before. The issue is not cost for the crowning job. ADCO does not work on URX rails, so it would have to be sent to multiple vendors for disassembly, crowning and reassembly. The additional costs, including shipping back and forth isn't worth it to me for maybe a 1/4 moa improvement. While I would prefer a better crown on my SR15, it is plenty accurate already.

I just sent off an email to ADCO and they replied in about 2 mins!

They don't have the KAC tools so I guess it's a moot point. I was considering it since it was already being worked on but I'm not going to send it out to another place just for that!

edit: Just saw mtdawg's comment after I posted.

BUT if KAC ever gets around to releasing those nice 'slick' URX rails in rifle length then my SR-15 will go under the knife for that, then maybe I'll consider the idea again while it's in pieces.

Sorry, I don't follow what you're saying? Are you saying that it is or isn't crowned? My SR15 does not have any chamfer at the muzzle.

That is your crown. Crowning comes in many different styles. This one is simply a flat crown.

If you're going to have the muzzle device permanently pinned, it's cheap insurance to inspect your rifle's crown and have it dressed as necessary before hand

Someone on this site (I believe it was KevinB, but I don't remember for sure) once told via PM that the SR15 has what's called a 'combat crown' rather than a target crown.

IMO, crowning indicates that the rifling has been dressed in some way. Cutting the barrel isn't the same as crowning as far as I'm concerned.
