Top or Interesting Economic or Political Articles

I (and anyone else who wants to) will be posting links to articles on economics or economic politics that I find interesting and think that others might find interesting. Instead of posting a new topic each time I find something, as I have been doing, I will post it here. Others are welcome to post their article links here as well. Reasonable discussion on the articles also welcome. Let's keep it civil.

Besides the link, please post the article title.

News and opinion articles are welcome.

I am going to try and avoid articles that require a subscription to read, though some may come from subscription websites. If it is posted here, I did not need to be a subscriber or member or have a login or be logged in to read it. Some articles are free on subscription sites and some are free if you come from the right place. For example, some articles that require a login will be free to read when they are linked at Google News (news.google.com) and you follow the link. In that case, go to http://news.google.com/ and then erase the URL field in the address bar and copy in the link from here into the address bar in your browser and hit return. In most cases that will work if the page you were on when you do that is news.google.com.

    Here is the first:

When you post a link, please post the title to the link with each link as well so we know what we are going to look at.

    Lightbulb The "New" Silk Road

    Post Af-Pak North-South Corridor
    http://www.opinion-maker.org/2010/10...outh-corridor/

"The North South trade corridor between Central Asia and Iran/Pakistan has already been envisioned under the ECO (Economic Cooperation Organization) soon after the emergence of these independent Central Asian states on the demise of the Soviet Union. ECO could be expanded to include China, being the second largest world economy and Turkey having the largest economy amongst the developing Muslim countries. This ECO Plus Two with a land mass more than two times of Europe, population of two billion people and the size of economy as large as 7 trillion US Dollars would be one of the most important economic global players in the near future."
