    LMT MWS...oversized FCG pin holes?

    Has anyone seen this ...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVWuWkN3WIA

I am not sure if it's an undersized FCG pin issue or an over sized hole issue. I'm not even sure it's an issue period however, I know mine does the same thing in the video.

I checked some other AR receivers and my Colt trigger was solid...no wobble. I had one AR trigger that did wobble like the LMT but I don't know who made the receiver for it.

    Just looking for some input.

    Thanks, gent's

All of my AR's (mostly Colt, KAC, and LMT) exhibit this to some degree. It's not a concern for me.

You might want to do a search of the forums, as "wobble" between the upper and lowers has been discussed ad nauseum. FWIW, there is absolutely no wobble between the upper and lower of my LM308MWS, they fit together extremely tightly. Not that I care about it, though.

Did you watch the video link? Thus isn't wobble between the upper and lower receiver...this is lateral movement of your trigger in the lower.

My question to the forum was should this amount of movement be considered normal. I was under the impression that these LMT lowers were the same as KAC so I figured all the KAC and LMT MWS owners would chime in and add their two cents.

Personally, I prefer my trigger to NOT wobble around left or right while I'm trying to pull it straight to the rear...but I'm a bolt gun guy and I'm kind of new to the semi auto 308 world.

I can see how they would put cheaper furniture on to keep costs down but still at $2400 I would expect the fcg pins to start off tight.

It seems this is normal though and is either not a big deal or does not exist in fellow owner's LMT's on this forum.

Some movement is normal but that looks a little more than Id expect.

If it were me, and I wanted a little less movement Id call Geissele, and ask if I could buy a couple of their oversized pins. I know they make them as one came with my DMR trigger group in case it was needed for a tighter fit.

ETA: If the hole is out of round Id want a new lower.

Ive seen numerous LMT lowers at local dealers with messed up FCG pin holes. Even posted a thread about it here a while back. I have 3 LMT lowers right now, and one of them has pin hole cuts that isn't pretty but the pins don't have any excessive movement. For whatever reason LMT seems to have a hard time cutting consistent true or clean cut FCG pin holes just based on what I've seen. On mine I mentioned it looks like the tool the used stopped in the middle of cutting, and the holes were never cleaned up. In the thread I mentioned every lower one dealer had the pin holes looked like garbage.

There is a big argument going on over TOS about this. I say if we are going to discuss it let's keep it civil and no attacks.

I have an MWS and my trigger has no wobble from side to side. My serial number is in the 3xx's.

I found that thread on TOS...seems like its the same video I pulled off of Snipershide. Doesn't look like a big arguement unless there is another thread somewherethat I didn't see.

It seems that its only the right side that has the issue...question, will those KNS pins tighten things up?

I really don't want to go through the hassle of sending the whole rifle back

Actually you should contact them and ask if it's normal and if you don't think it is, you should send it back.

Maybe they screwed up and put out some bad batches? They can't fix it, if they don't know about it.

My MWS has the same woble on the triger and pin, although I am not sure if it affects anything. I dont think I would have noticed unless some one pointed it out to me.

Would be curious to find out straight from LMT if this is normal or a bad batch. Wouldnt mind getting it replaced, my rifle has some nasty looking tooling marks on the upper anyways..

Keep us posted as to what LMT has to say
