    Question RRA Two stage Trigger

Hey all, I have a RRA two stage trigger on my LWRC Lower and out of the box there was no creep at all and now that I have fired the rifle about 600 rounds, there seems to be a small gap between pulling the trigger and contact against force, almost like play in the trigger before you can begin your trigger squeeze. Anyone else feel anything like this? Can I adjust the trigger to get rid of the gap and get back to trigger squeeze only. Let me know, sorry if this is a little confusing.

That's why they call it a 2-stage trigger.

That's normal for a two-stage trigger. My RRA behaved like that right out of the box. I have since ditched the RRA and have gone to Giessele SSA's on all my rifles.

the reason is concerns me is, out of the box it wasn't like that. Out of the box it was a light crisp trigger squeeze, which has now evolved into a trigger that seems to be "loose" or no force at all to squeeze for about 1/8 of an inch(might be over exaggerating) than contact and back to a smooth trigger squeeze. i understand how a two stage works, this doesn't' feel like a two stage, feels more like a loose stage to trigger pull. Again this didn't start to happen till about the 400 or 500 round count. thinking about calling RRA and seeing what they say.

Have you tried the DMR trigger yet? I was looking a getting rid of the RRA and getting a Giessele but don't know which i should get. I hear that the SSA isn't adjustable. Does that bother you?

I've seen a few threads over the last year of RRA and ArmaLite two-stage triggers that settle in after some use. Rarely is the change an improvement. You might want to contact RRA and see what their take on this is.

My first SSA was one I had Noveske put on a Light Recce I ordered from them. Loved it...put SSA's on two other rifles including the one with the RRA. They all shoot identically. Not as light as the RRA, but absolutely crisp and completely predictable. Lack of adjustability is not an issue for me.

I've got a RRA two stage trigger on my rifle and it worked great for about the first thousand rounds. Now when I shoot I sometimes get the first stage and sometimes I don't, it's completely unpredictable. It is definitely not a good trigger for any gun that may see serious use.

    Geissele it is.

I agree, going to switch out the RRA and throw down on a Geissele SSF seeing how my FA paperwork should be coming through pretty soon. Thanks for the input guys.

PS. I was wondering if I could use the SSA if Full Auto or do I need the SSF trigger to get FA to work? Would like to get a consistent trigger on all my lowers. It's saying that the SSA is semi-only which is kind of telling me that I am going to need the SSF if I want a new trigger on my m16 Lower. Let me know if I'm right.

The instruction sheet on an Armalite 2 stage says to give it 500~ rounds to seat in before making any adjustments. I think yours just took a set is all.

(OP) Can you pull the upper and look at the trigger to see what your play actually is? Is it just the 1st stage you are now noticing?
