I'm gonna ask a quick question. Who exactly are "those guys"?![]()
We've had a problem with this on FSN as well. Somebody from a Tampa ricer car forum turned all his teeny-bopper buddies on to the forum and they came flooding in. It's to the point that if I see "Tampa" in the person's profile I don't even much bother responding to them.
Maybe what we need is a Jeff Foxworthy "you might be one of 'those guys' if..."
1) You might be one of "those guys" if you have a list of firearms owned in your sigline.
2) You might be one of "those guys" if you have a link to your personal blog in your sigline.
etc.

Or you "might be one of those guys" if you list all the names you were banned under in your sig line.![]()

I don't know if I am one of "those guys" or not. Probably some here would categorize me that way and some not so much.
If I may interject an opinion, I'm not 100% comfortable with the deliberate stratification happening here. I don't want to antagonize anyone, but the term "elitist" is what first came to my mind. I know some of my own perceptions are coloring assessment, but I feel the urge to be candid about this issue.
While I see the desire to have a set of forums where the less constructive contributions are minimized is certainly valid, some of the commentary directed toward those people and/or their messages is just as bad (in my opinion) as the objectionable comments made by those who are the objects of the criticism (and often pillory). It reminds me of people who actively hate and discriminate against people whom they label racists.
This set of forums is clearly private property and the owner(s) may operate it as he/she sees fit. Rules are what they are and I do my best to adhere to them, but I hope I can express my thoughts without undue reprisal.
