what you can do, and always have the option of doing, is shaving it down and running a floated handguard out to or over it, and putting a back up iron sight on the rail. there's also a couple options for replacing... vltor makes a really nice flip-up sight. some guys like the ARMS folding front sight/gas block, but we're not much of an ARMS fan around here. you could replace it with a railed gas block, too... but there's very little practical application for 'em.

so there's always options, if you, for some reason, didn't want to keep the existing FSB.

So after emailing Joe at DD, he wanted me to ship it back. He said it was definitely not right. They are even gonna remove the old bbl and install the new one since I bent two punches trying to get the FSB off. Excellent customer service right there. Now it's just the waiting game.

I've seen this before on lower grade brands, especially Bushmaster and Sabre.

I thought Sabre made some of the best barrels.
    What gives?

off topic.. but i have some issues with sabre, myself. i own a sabre barrel- they were one of the first manfers to produce a mid-length 14.5.. but i disagree with their gas port size theory and the fact that they don't HPT.

Uneven FSB ears. Canted to the rear or front FSB.

The use of an no M203 notch handguard cap on their M4 barrels.

I have basically given up on every brand of barrel except Colt and some Noveske.

I'm also tired of the cold hammer forged hype.
