    First build/ need help

Hey guys. I am looking to put together a decent target style AR. I am looking to build the lower myself but i am looking to buy a complete upper(has to be post-ban). Obvioulsy i want to to be as accurate ass possible without going crazy on price, i am trying to keep it somewhat lower being my first build. I am looking for advice or ideas if anyone has built one in the past. I am looking for a standard A2 upper. It would be nice to buy a match upper with the floated A2 style hand guards but i dont want to have to feed high priced ammo through it everytime i shoot. I loved Going to the Range in the Marines and looking to get back into long range target shooting. Thanks for reading guys.

So youre looking to buy a complete A2 upper? BCM is a good route.

IMO you should look into buying a flat top upper, and then using a removable carry handle if you want the A2 iron sights. Later if you decide to use an optic you always have that choice. With an A2 not so much.

Thats good advice, the A2 reciever certainly limits options for the future.

I was thinking of that, but i have a stag m4 with a flat top already. But i do get what your saying if i wanted to scope it or something. Do you think the fast the carrying handle is removeable would make it less accurate? i was looking at this http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct...sting-_-599058 and this but not sure if i want spend that much and if i do i dont want to have to just feed it expensive ammo. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct...sting-_-616914

Jarhead, our issue rifles today have removable carry handles and are as/or more accurate than the A2's of yesteryear.

As Belmont said go with the flattop. It opens your options up when you want to do optics. BCM is a good pretty cheap way to go. Too cheap you will just be buying junk.

The only problem with BCM is all the 20in uppers are sold out plus they are not legal in MA becuase my state sucks haha. It has to be post ban. The only ones i see im into are those DPMS ones.

If you want an A4 upper get the BCM when its in stock. Choose a muzzle brake of your choice and send it to ADCO to have it made AWB compliant.
