All good choices along with the the Battle Comp & others !!! I have a Troy Claymore on one of my ARs and it works pretty good at throwing all the noise forward,,its not quiet by any means,,but all the Ports face forward,,so no nasty side or rearward "Blast" !

+1. IMO, neither are noticeably louder than a standard flash hider at all...

I second the electronic hearing protection if the issue is needing to hear commands etc..

    comp/brake

    +1 on the Battlecomp 1.0..

Much quieter than the PWS (especially to your line mates to the side)
A little less effective recoil wise, but worth it IMHO

I second the Claymore, all the ports face forwards to redirect as much of the noise\blast forwards as possible. Also it's not classified a flash-hider in case that presents a problem. And it's not as huge as the Noveske and some of the others.

Any thoughts on leaving it without any device?

It would work, but you risk the chance of buggering up the threads.

Can I swap muzzle devices easily without my primary comp getting loose or chewed up? Should I just get another upper?
More of a hassle than it is worth and anytime the muzzle device is changed, there is the likelihood that the POI will shift.

I like electronic hearing protection. Here is a muzzle thread protector:

...yet another "direct it forward" option. Although I would be more likely to pick the BABC, if I were in the market at this time. Otherwise, just leave it with the A2. I just haven't read of those other ideas doing much good, and you lose flash hiding capabilities, I assume.
