    First Build, almost complete

So I decided it was time I built my own AR instead of buying on already made by someone else. It's also an SBR build and after doing the math I learned I could save about $250 building it myself vs. buying it. The purpose is for LE use on patrol. My patrol rifles don't get a ton of rounds through them, but when they do they better count. So I didn't go cheap.

The only real requirements I had for myself starting out was I was going to use a monolithic upper system, and I ended up going with the VLTOR VIS, and the barrel is going to be 10.5 inches. Here's a parts list...

    - Noveske stripped lower
    - VLTOR VIS 2A (that's the extended mid-length)
    - Magpul everything in FDE
    - BCM M16 BCG
    - Gunfighter charging handle
    - Surefire Scout light
    - Aimpoint T-1 in a Larue tall mount

The only thing I'm missing is my barrel, which will come after my stamp. I'm going with a Noveske 10.5 inch barrel with low profile gas block and going to get it painted in FDE. And a Battlecomp 1.0 at the end of it all. So hopefully in a few months I'll have more to report, but here's where it sits now while waiting on the ATF.

It's not a cheap/budget build at all. But it's something I'm building to trust my life on.

    Trying to be Stickman there.

    Me likey too

Im personally a big fan of Magpul products and love to see a rifle sporting full Magpul furniture.

Only thing, i prefer the MIAD over the MOE for grip choice.

I currently have a CTR on my Stag-15 SBR but the UBR has grown on me alot, so im considering swapping for one.

cj5 def keep us updated with the progression of ur build.

Because I hate the look of a rifle with a standard frong sight post. I can't explain it any more than that, just not a look I like.

Stamp is in and rifle is done.

    VLTOR VIS extended mid-length upper
    Noveske stripped lower
    Geissele SSA trigger
    BAD ASS ambi selector lever
    BAD Lever
    Gunfighter charging handle
    Noveske 10.5 chrome lined barrel
    Battlecomp 1.0
Surefire Scout light in a Gear Sector mount
Aimpoint T-1 in a Larue absolute cowitness mount
    BCM bolt carrier group
    Lots of Magpul parts

It shoots as good as I could expect. Over 500 flawless rounds so far with no failures. It's good to go.

I put every pin and screw in myself with basic hand tools and mostly done on my kitchen table. A few specialty tools were needed but I did it all without a shop. It's easy, you can do it too.

    Pics....
