    It been some time ago but I do not ever remember forcing the pin to go in. It also broke in the middle of a long string of fire during training. I think the pin just broke and the part became lodged with the bolt partially back. I think it had almost ejected the round all the way, the case came out without incident but the bolt was stuck. All I remember was having to do a lot of work (and head scratching)to get the bolt back into battery so we could get the upper open to see what the problem was.

    I had a gas ring come apart on me once and it locked it up just like you are discribing

    I've heard of that too. It's kind of frustrating trying to diagnose this while your team is blasting rounds down range. But I guess it's the nature of the Beast.
