    Factory Threaded Barrel M&Ps

For all you M&P fans out there,

Stopped by a gunshop in Scottsdale today where one of the sales guys showed me what he claimed was a factory M&P45 with a threaded barrel.

Verified at the S&W website that these are factory pistols in 9mm and 45. They are also making 9mm and .40 models with dark earth frames.

Now if they would just make an M&P 22 conversion kit...

They are going to make or are making these items?

I held the M&P45 in my hands, so they are making those.

The threaded 9mm and dark earth 9mm and .40 I saw on the M&P Kits link on the factory website.

We got those in stock in 9mm and 45ACP. It's a hell of a deal a standard full size M&P9 or M&P45 with both barrels, the combo package guns means that the barrel is about $15 higher than a normal M&P.

I'm hoping they make a threaded .40 model.

The sales rep at the store mentioned that it is difficult to suppress the .40SW. Something about unreliablility with the sub-sonic rounds.

I guess he meant suppressing sub-sonic rounds because I have shot thousands of rounds of .40SW 180 grain sub-sonic un-suppressed with no issues when it comes to weapon function.

Perhaps it has to do with the sub-sonic rounds cycling the slide reliably with a suppressor?

These actually come with TWO barrels. Both a regular...and a threaded one as well. Its quite a deal if you ask me. Looks like you can only get the package without a thumb safety for now.

Thats cool that they will be shipped with both barrels. Now if only they would send out some VTAC's.

Smith and Wesson doesn't have a clue when it comes to this, and I'm tired of hearing about it.

They dicked this up the first time by not cutting the shoulder back far enough on the 13.5x1LH threads so most 9mm suppressors would not fit correctly.

The second time they deviated from the industry standard 13.5x1LH threads and went back 20 years in time to 1/2x28 threads.

Robb, does that imply that you can just order a factory barrel for a fullsize 45? Kinda need one.
