I purchased a new gen 4 Glock 19 and it had around 10 failures to feed in the first 500 rounds. The ammo was mixed Federal 115 gr and Winchester 147gr ball and Pro Load 115 ball. I had 3 of the failures within 2 mags of the WW147 gr stuff. The mags were one new gen 4 mag and two of my older practice mags, but I had at least one failure with each mag.
The failure looked like this. I did find a slight burr around the firing pin hole so I stoned it off.
I called Glock and was shipped a 0-4 recoil spring. One thing I noticed was that my G19 tossed the brass 15' with the issue spring and only 6-8' with the new lighter spring. Which confuses me but what the heck I'm easily confused.
The next range session resulted with one FTF out of 200 rounds of WW 147 ball. I then switched to all new gen 4 mags and fired 300 more rounds of the 147 WW ball with no issues. I thought this was pretty interesting as I do not recall any FTFs in my other two G19 with 10 of thousands of rounds through them. The combination of the new spring and some new mags seemed to fix my problem. I will fire at least 300 rounds today before I pronounce it cured.
I like the Gen 4 Glock, and I like my new Hack nights sights and I really my Crimson Trace laser guards
Mike
