    'Bout danged time!

I bought this rifle two years ago. A 22 caliber Theoben Eliminator gas ram break barrel air rifle. The barrel was loose at the trunnion. I sent it back, six weeks later it came back to me somewhat tighter but I could not sight it in because the barrel was drooping too much, a common airgun problem. Sent it back a second time, ten weeks later it came back, barrel angle corrected but the barrel very loose again. Sent it back a third time. Sixteen weeks later it came back, barrel still somewhat loose but the stock cracked where the forend screws to the gun. Sent it back again. This time it only took two weeks, I can sight it in, the barrel is tight, tight, tight. The replacement stock, though it has a couple of dings, if a very pretty piece of walnut. It's a powerful son of a bitch for an air rifle, about 24 foot pounds, 1100 or so feet per second. Accurate too. I can shoot 3/4 inch at 25 yards offhand. I can get that down some if I practice. Sending it back four times cost about $150. I have wanted one of these for twenty years. Sometimes wanting something is better than having it. The amazing thing is that through this saga I never once got angry, even in private, even just thinking about it. I was amazed. I guess I have mellowed. Good thing. Twenty years ago I would have blown a gasket. I guess all's well that ends well.

Yes, in fact he is so spectacular that he regularly uses the weapon to hunt elephant and down aircraft.

    Tim,
I think this is what they are referring to.

I don't own a television and I work mostly alone. I'm probably the person most disconnected from popular culture I know. Except maybe my wife, she's pretty disconnected. I had to explain to her what a cougar is.

I do kind of look like the dude. Not as old, not as weather beaten. I'm working on it.

LOL! I'm glad that you could find the humor in all that Tim, because we sure did.
