While I agree with a lot of your issues in this thread, I'm wondering if you've actually tried putting this setup together, or what circumstance you envision this failing if you have.
I'd also be curious to see if maybe someone reading this thread that has the parts needed (URX w/ flip sight, X300, clamp-on BUIS) would be willing to put this setup together and post a few pictures.
Why does everyone feel the need to mount an x300 at the 12 o clock position? Whats the advantage of this as oposed to 3,6, and 9 o clock?

Rob,
I tried this when I first got my KAC. I intended to run a DD front sight behind the X300. My hope was the KAC front sight would rotate forward enough to allow the battery door to open far enough to change the batts. But no go, the front of the light hits the gas block. It works just fine and would be a viable solution.
I can try to put it back together and take a couple of pics with it if you like.
What I would like to see is a set up that would lower the forward part of the rail enough to allow an X400 to be mounted right there.
OTO27,
Running an X300 at 12 o'clock is a slick set up. It places the light in the perfect position to reduce visible barrel shadow, the shooters lean angle is the same whether it's a right or left barricade and you are less likely to shine the light on the barricade, the switching is perfectly symmetrical, it is less likely to snag as it's right over the barrel, and it's pretty inexpensive because there is no separate mount.

Thanks Stick. I'll ask before someone else does... if the light were slid one notch towards the muzzle would the integral sight be able to tip up with the light attached?
(I assume not, and that the light is slid back a notch to keep it from getting blasted by the TT)

Hey Stick, if you're willing to setup and do pics, could you also do a Gear Sector or VLTOR light mount for 11'oclock position of a G2 or similar? My concern is being able to push the release button to deploy the built-in front sight. Thanks in advance!
