(I assume not, and that the light is slid back a notch to keep it from getting blasted by the TT)

Stick might be able to rotate his enough to get the batts out, but on the 16" guns the gas block is right there and prevents the light from tipping up enough.

    Works fine.

    Awesome Stickman!
You beat me to it. I was going to mount one of my X300s in front of a DD front sight on my SR15E3 tonight but now I don't have to.

Does the back up front sight have a mechanism to lock it in the down position, or does it move up freely?

It locks in place. There is a button on the side that releases it and when up, also locks in place..

Any chance that an X300 would over time be too much for mechanism under recoil? Was this sight designed to handle having something mounted solely on it ? If it was not it would be unfair to expect it to handle an X300 solely mounted on it over time.

I'm positive that it was designed to have stuff mounted on it.

I don't think it would have rail on it, if that wasn't a concern.

I'm sure III or somebody thought of that.

I would like to see this changed. I'd rather have a real clamp on flip up front sight like the Troy or KAC.

I would say alot of people that buy a Daniel Defense rail would rather buy the KAC if the front flip up was eliminated.

If anti rotation is being incorporated, then this is good.

I also want to see a standard midlength URX for 10.5" barrels.
    Scottryan,

I have a very early model of the URX mid length on my LMT that does not have the integrated front sight. I don't know when it was made or if KAC currently makes them, but Trey told me that there are very few of them out there. I want to say that there were more of the taupe colored rails released than the black ones. I'm sure Kevin or Trey can expand more on it.

Here's an old picture of it. That's also a KAC front sight.
