Would this bolt handle be a good choice?

Recently purchased a Savage Model 10FP and while it comes with an oversized bolt handle it seems just a bit too short for me. I saw this at brownells and it looks like it would fit the bill a little bit better. I am not really interested in a bolt lift kit I just want to replace the handle. Should I replace the bolt handle with this one or leave the one I have alone? My stock bolt handle seems hard to work because of it being a little bit short. Here it is from brownells.

That's the bolt handle I have on my 10FP. I like it. I wish it wasn't knurrled, but the length and smaller diameter is great.

Buy it direct from the Kevin though, add the lift kit, and still save yourself some money from what Brownells charges for just the handle.

I actually talked to him on the phone. He told me about the lift kit but what really am I gaining with it? Do I really need it to swap over the bolts or will the replacement bolt work fine without it?

It is not required for replacing the bolt.

It just reduces the friction upon lifting the bolt...makes it travel easier. I thought it was $8 well spent, being that you're ordering from him and getting it shipped.

Once I had the lift kit and the longer knob installed, it was a night and day difference for me over the OEM knob.

Was there any fitting with the bolt lift kit on yours?

No fitting, it's basically a flat washer (with a ball bearing center) that you drop into a tube.

Well hell if that's all there is too it than I will be getting one. I was reading somewhere on Sniperhide where someone took one and spent a while on it to get it to fit just right.

    Here:

It goes in between the BAS and the sleeve that the guy in the video talks about and plays with at 2:53.

    It's super easy.
