Anybody own one of new Armalite SASS .308's?

Not an ArmaLite but we had a DPMS SASS in the shop...........to me it's not on the level of a $2K gun. The gas block also was about .002" from the inside of the rail. To close for my liking. Also a very heavy rifle. That said I really like the DPMS AP4s (M4 style .308s). I would like to get one, 'shave' the FSB into a lo-pro gas block and install a 12" DD Lite Rail and a VLTOR E-mod stock.

At the SASS price point, you start finding options for customizing the weapon from a reputable gunsmith, like George Gardner.

$2250 was the last price I saw for a GAP AR-10/GAP AP-4.

I got the AP4 with a Miculek compensator if you want to shoot the shortie 308 AR...... but I also have a new custom GAP SASS (with a suppressor). It is built on a DPMS upper and lower.
