    Daniel Defense Kershaw Folder

Any owners/operators care to give a "readers digest" review of what they think of the knife so far?

I would be interested if it was available with a plain edge. Does it open with a flipper or thumbstud? I cant tell from that picture.

    Fudd knife

It's a very "tactical" looking knife but overall not very practical. The steel isn't great, the acute tip looks like it could break easily. I'm not wild about serrations. I haven't held one but as a useful knife I'd imagine you'd be better served by something less "cool" looking.

    Knife Utility

Absolutely. As far as actual utility goes it's hard to beat a SAK or Leatherman. For a folding knife I like something with quality steel, a stout lock and no serrations for easier sharpening. No tanto style blades either, they lack belly and they are more difficult to sharpen. There are some knives with steels such as S90V, CPMM4, S110V that hold an edge well but can be a bitch to sharpen.

My favorites are the Spyderco Military and Spyderco Manix.

As others have said, its got a lesser quality steel, combined with an odd blade shape and thin tip and youve got yourself a broken blade. Its tacti-cool alright, but you'd be better served with other models.

My Spyderco Military and Paramilitary models have never failed me, but then again they only get used for things that a folder should be used for, the fixed blade comes out on the harder tasks. But for EDC the Paramilitary IMO cant be beat.

Eh, sure it can! It's called the Spyderco Para 2!

Seriously, if you haven't handled the Para 2, you need to. It really is an improvement on the original Paramilitary.
