Mine was a specops and had no issues with the charging handle.

    Mag Pouches

Spec Ops work fine, they aren't in the actual supply system but if you're in a line unit usually the Company Supply can put in request to the Battalion S-4 and they can make purchases if needed in bulk. Which if you're running around on the FOB then the unit should provide them unless it is a extremely micro managed unit. Can't count how many I have purchase on the Unit Credit Card.

i used one in 04, i think it was made by eagle. it worked fine for its intended purpose, but i kind of abandoned the use of it early in the tour. i sort of looked at it as my "e&e holy crap! last mag!" but as some of the other guys metioned, its mostly just weighing down your rifle more. ( kind of like how a beta mag is cool until you hump it around for one patrol) I feel that its not really worth the money or thought, if you need a spar mag on the weapon i think redi-mags are the way to go.

Again thanks for all the helpful comments...if I were to go afield, I'd lose the BS pouch for a belt pouch...the rifle really is a house gun as it were for if things were to get really stupid...I don't expect it...but I plan for it...Does that make me a paranoid survalist?...nah...
