I have yet to see someone that bought a SS Sub or SD in the past couple of decades that sold it at a loss.

Especially the FF you want. Instant 20% depreciation when you buy it.

Finally pulled the trigger on a 103 after going back and forth for a while. Feels like a military Speedmaster

    Yep.
One of the reasons that holds me back. It’s a body work and paint level, crate engine level, chunk of a killer pool, etc. level expenditure that immediately loses value and competes with dozens of other watches for wrist time.

Interesting subject on long term ROI on a watch. Assuming I wanted to start budgeting for a Rolex, which one does a guy look for to gain value over time? How much does the case material affect long term values given the cost of the material, or is that not really a factor in long term value?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Any of the stainless steel sport models will gain in value over time. Submariners, GMTs, Daytonas and Sea-Dwellers. All great watches.

Thanks. Any advantage at all to buying those models in gold? *not that I can reasonably afford those...*

No. They do not have the demand of the stainless steel. 2 tone tends to lose in value.

Just as well, I personally don’t care for the cosmetics of the two tone variants.

You can find Gold subs and Daytona’s all day long. SS not so much. Look up the Sub price trend over time, it has held it’s value tremendously well. A 25 year old is still going for $6k+.

I predict it will be gone in 6 months. LOL.

    Sell me the Seamaster.

Riots are like sports, it's better to watch it on TV at home.
