Exceptionally thin for an automatic Diver-

I have to keep looking at that zenith. I am used to the typical tall Seiko diver, and sometimes go for massive like one of their classic pro divers or a Mararhon JSAR. But some 11mm tall glycine shad me rethinking that.

    The Zenith is a fav.
I never experienced slamming the thin Zenith into door frames, but did with thick(er) IWC diver or Sub.

It held up to several snorkel trips with no issues.

My humble submission, a recent purchase of my first automatic watch:

    I love that Zenith, gaijin.

The one that has caught my eye recent is this Zenith chronograph. Not even close to willing to pick one up, but it’s now on my radar: https://www.chrono24.com/zenith/el-p...-id9038086.htm

    JG-
Zenith "El Primero" movement has always been highly regarded.
Rolex used it in their "Daytona" before they developed their own, in house, movement.

The El Primero movement was the first to have a frequency of 36,000vph, which "splits" a second into 1/10th, which is crazy precision for a mechanical watch.

(Seiko developed their "Hi Beat" movement which is similar in concept and execution. It's a dandy as well, used in their "Grand Seiko".)

I was fortunate to pick up a Zenith Chrono from ca. 1990, made in 2K pieces for Belgium's Air Force crew.
I'm sure I've shown this before, but it's a cool watch, so-

    Hell yeah that’s nice.

About twenty years ago I just missed a good deal on a vintage zenith before it was as well known for its movement.

I will never get over how far Zenith fell from being a premier watch company to what they are now, putting out some of the ugliest designs of all time for so long it's as if someone intentionally tanked that great watch company.
