15 years ago another friend told me that the shop charge for cleaning--not repairing--his Rolex was $300. I just assumed that he got hosed but really don't know. Anyone had a Rolex cleaned?

Rolex has a service center in Lancaster, PA. I believe watches that need service, east of the Mississippi all go there. I could be wrong, but that is what I was told.

My GMT blnr gets most of my wrist time now days. Sure makes hopping 3-8 time zones more manageable.

Nice. The Sinn I wanted was the U1. I had planned to get one, but they had a big price hike, which I felt just too much for it. Worth is relative of course, but that was my feeling. Prior to the price hike, a solid deal.

I would love to have a U1. They are made with submarine steel. Yeah, I know all marketing, but I'm a sucker for that stuff. Maybe consider a used one. I got my Sinn 103 used, and paid a lot less than what they are new.
