As glad as I am to hear that, and I really am, that ain't no fun buying one in a box. That's for normal folk.

I prefer to buy the guns that all the budget outfits are attempting to emulate. Sometimes that costs a little more...

    Oh well.

Thier are a ton of threads about Spikes. Overall they make good rifles. This website has a ton of BCM supporters and should have, they make great rifles. I have a BCM m4 also, and I never had a problem out of either rifles in any of my classes. Buy either with confidence
The is my complete Spike M4 LE rifle...pic

I'm only going to use this as a recreational shooter as I'm too busted up to do much else.
I'm also looking at the DD deal on Smartgunner.
I really can't order 'til after Christmas.
Thanks to all who took the time to respond. Good info.

If I were you, I'd look at SmartGunner's custom built Daniel Defense upper deal going on right now. Here's how I'd order one:

Light Weight Mid Length Upper: $374
    DD Bolt Carrier Group: $124
    Magpul MOE Handguard $32
    DD A1.5 Rear Sight $53

A complete DD upper for $583 is the best deal online right now. Here's the link: http://www.smartgunner.com/DanielDefenseURG.aspx
I was all ready to get the 16" BCM Lightweight middy upper until I saw this. Now I am all confused, is there any advantage in getting the DD? It's going on a CMMG lower with Magpul furniture. Sorry to butt in on your thread but thought it a waste to start another.

Either one is good. Both are on equal standing as being a high quality product by a reputable company. It now just comes down to price as far as I can see.

On a side note minus any special deals both DD and BCM are about the same in price points regularly.

Don't wait too long after Christmas, the Smartgunner deal only lasts until the new year.

After that, I would probably expect the price to jump a lot. A DD CHF barrel is $350 by itself, and the base Smartgunner upper price is $349.

Internet commandos would call DD and BCM both Tier 1.

But seriously, both are great companies with excellent quality and customer service. The only thing the Smartgunner DD deal has over BCM uppers at this point is the CHF barrels. BCM's prices on hammer forged barrel uppers are $100 more than regular barrel uppers, and thats probably what the DD uppers will go for once Smartgunners deal ends.

actually, all Daniel Defense barrels from now on are CHF. so any comparison between the two needs to be apples/apples...
