I don't think they are over priced at all. These are not normal mags. A lot of R&D had to go into them. Their is nothing else out there that offers the same advantages.

BROWNELLS IS ACCEPTING PRE-ORDERS ON THESE.
Well...it's not overpriced until one breaks due to wear and tear. It's still just a magazine. I like the concept but wouldn't spend $130 on a magazine. For $50, I'd grab a couple.

[QUOTE=mashed68;881463]I understand them being more exspensive but these sound overpriced. If the 60rd was under $90 I'd be sold.[/QUOT]
Same here, the price point is a little high. Anything under a C-note would work for me.
Thanks for the info Cagemonkey on Brownell's. Back-ordered two 60s and one 100. Hopefully this will pan out.

Heres a reason to be skeptical. We are down next to Camp Pen and have gotten some news from one of the units that have fielded the IAR.
This is what we heard from some of our customers that came in
Problem: These mags do not work with the IAR.
Neither do Pmags
Has something to do with the angle of the magazine
After the Marine Corps fully fields this weapon I would expect PMAG sales to drop because it is not interchangeable between the organic weapons being used.
emags do fit though.
I don't know about the other services but I almost guaruntee the Marine Corps will never use SF's new mag because of this issue.

Just get rid of the whole rifle, problem solved!
Amen. Better yet, train the machinegunner well with the Knight's LMG, problem solved again.
As for the 60rd and 100rd mags, bulky dual feed magazines. A few work in pistol calber, I am waiting to see in rifle caliber. 100rd model would be really tough as impossible to go prone with, and how do you keep track of your rounds? Personally, no interest.

Its my opinion, the the success of the IAR is largely dependent on a reliable hi capacity magazine. Surefire might be willing to make a HK416 compatible variant. If not, hopefully Magpul can do something. They have their 60 rounder that they were working on. I'm surprised HK hasn't come up with a hi capacity magazine yet. Its too early throw in the towel.
