ALASKAPOPO, Your answer to my statement that the m16 family going to shorter barrels has lost volicity, was " the slower and heaver bullets, 75 and 77 grain are deadlier" Is because of their heaver weight , not their slower volicity and they could do even better if they had a barrel longer than 14 1/2 inches long.
My whole point has been that lighter weight, Including items that are added on, can reduce the chance of you getting the first hit at close range. And can also add items that can fail under hard sustained use.
I also understand matching the weapon to the mission, I don't know who reads this forum, But My best guess is that very few of them have missions to preform, but mostly just want to be able to defend themselves when needed. That may not apply to law enforcement. But although LE may have a carbine in their car, the things that they need attached to their rifle live in a very controlled envoriment.
My mindset is that my weapon must withstand the monsoon, the dry dusty season and what ever with out a armor handy and without good shealter available when cleaning it. I would be confortable with nothing less. However being almost 70 I doubt that I will be going on any more missions.

MTDAWD, You stated that your 60 rd Mag would not feed 300BLK and thought that there may be rubbing the inside of the magazine.
I wonder if the increase in bullet weight, (perhaps 220 gr instead of 55gr ) or 165 gr each times 60 was too heavy to move fast enough and caused the bolt over base failure to feed?

I am non-leo and live in CA with it's #%!@ 10-rnd limit - you can pretty much imagine how bad I want one of these
Is it just me or would a 40 round version be the better than the 60 or 100? The 60 is just as long as the CMMG 40 rounder and you don't exactly see everyone rocking one of those.![]()
Just got one of these in, the 60rounders, so far I'm as impressed as I was 8 months ago when we saw these in person via a Surefire rep in class. Hefty mags, but honestly no worse then a redi-mag, and these things feed GREAT on non-steel cased ammo. The size also is not an issue.
So far, very very cool, especially for trunk gun or bed stand guns.
