"People talk 45. shoot 9mm and carry 38." Jeff Cooper
now it would be - "People talk G19, Shoot G34 and Carry G43"
Why not just get your pistol and carbine from the same manufacturer? I'm not sure you should trust the reliability of the Glock and AR platforms...

Luger P08 and a HK G11 caseless.
If you aren't armed when you take a dump in your own home then your opinion on what is a practical daily carry weapon isn't interesting to me.
I already own them...
My current M&P Pro Series 9mm.
My current AR (do I get multiple uppers for the AR, since technically only the lower is the "gun"? LOL!!!)

Without more specific purposes in mind, I'd feel pretty confident with my Glock 17 and LMT.
If the choice is prompted by survival, I'd take a Ruger GP100 and a Marlin 22LR lever gun. I might be willing to take a Glock 17 over the Ruger, but the 22LR is non-negotiable.
I guess if there was a new federal 1 rifle, 1 pistol law, then I'd choose my HK45 and Noveske N4 Light/T1. Otherwise, why would you have to only choose/keep 1 of each?
