Gentlemen, we are discussing ownership of current production AR-15's....not 19th Century Pirate Muskets.

If you buy a current modeled 6920, 6520, etc., and do so thinking your buying something rare or collectible than you got your priorities messed up imo. My local funstore has a sale on a metric crap ton of $999 6920's. Not exactly C series/Noveske rifles run in very few qty.

I never once built or bought an AR15 with the notion of gee, I wonder how much I will sell this for someday and what it's value will be.....my priorities involve the guns going in the grave with me, not sold to turn a profit or kept and made a safe queen so that I can brag about my 1973 blah, blah colt. The guns are Tools, not antiques or mantle wear.

Would a new 14.5" Noveske Afghan upper painted in Cerakote FDE have the same value as one with the factory finish?

I would consider Cerakote on a rifle I plan to shoot and hold onto for years, although I would be concerned about the durability of the finish.
If you buy and sell that often I would not waste the money. If you just want it to match paint it. You can strip the paint if necessary. I would just leave it and shoot it.
