    You can mount a light to the standard round handguards.

    If this is possible, then i will no longer pursue the idea of buying a rail.

    Honestly, a good light is really the only thing i need. The idea of being able to at least blind an attacker, is something that i feel is important to me.

    If you just want to add a light and foregrip, then here is a great option. I am using one on a 16" and absolutely LOVE it. It's small enough I can grip all the way around the tube!

    You can just add a rail to the front sight frame and then mount the light at that.

    That's what I'm talking about!!! Start out simple and when you gain some experience you can make an educated decision on what you need. Otherwise you wind up with a lot of stuff in a box.
