Outers 445 Gun Oil, Outers Gun Slick w/ Anhydrous Graphitic, and Miltec-1

I currently have these three lubes and am wondering as to how i can best use them in my AR15.

I apply a decent amount of gunslick paste to my charging handle, but do not use it anywhere else. It seems to be a good lube for just that, a part that doesn't heat up much, if not at all.

Does anyone have experience with the Outers gun oil? It's a thin lube that seems to work well after cleaning my rifle and applying a decent amount to the BCG. I cleaned and lubed the BCG 5 days ago, and the BCG is still soaked in Outers Gun oil, and it hasn't pooled at all.

Is Miltec-1 a lube that you should apply to your BCG after cleaning? and then reapply a fresh coat before shooting at the range? Should i only apply this stuff to my BCG before usage?

or should i just lube everything up with the Outers Gunslick? It's a not a very wet lube when compared to the others. It's a paste with Anhydrous Graphitic.

If anyone has any experiance with the outers gun oil and gunslick, please chime in. I know many have used the Miltec-1, but does it work well in harsh winter conditions?

I am thinking of going strictly with Mobil 1 high mileage or some other Mobil 1 oil.

I'd prefer to keep things simple with a single lube. Other than that, i use Hoppes 9 for cleaning the BCG and Bore, which has seemed to work quite well so far.

    Thanks

I'd rather use only one lube if possible, just to simplify things.

Have you bothered to do a search for the other umpteen thousands of discussions about lube?

Yes i have. I haven't found anything in regards to the outers stuff, and for some reason, the search function is either not working, or it's not turning up anything.

I guess i'm looking for first hand experience.

Pick an oil based lube. Slather on generously to every place you see metal on metal contact. Shoot. Relube when the gun feels sluggish. Shoot. Train. Clean every 1K-2K rds. Stop overthinking this. Find a reputable trainer and take a carbine class.

Shit, I just use synthetic motor oil. A lot of people use the Mobil 1, I just use the WM brand synthetic, and I keep it in a clear condiment squeeze bottle (like you find in diners....99 cents at WM, too). Ultra cheap and does pretty well.

Slip 2000 is also an excellent lube.

    Jimston,

Inspite of what some would have you believe, the AR is not that finicky. I have never felt the need to have two or three types to put on different parts of the weapon.

Do NOT use Gunslick (or anything else with graphite) on an AR. Graphite will galvanically attack aluminum.

If you go to the top of the webpage and click on the ORANGE search button and then type in AR lube or something similar no less than a dozen threads will jump out at you. There are plenty of quality lubes out there.

I personally like WeaponShield and Slip2000. I pour it on and shoot. Pretty easy.

If your guns cannot run on everything from WD40 to motor oil, then you need to get rid of them.
